Tyrod Taylor is getting a “RAW DEAL” from the Buffalo Bills

What is wrong with the Buffalo Bills concerning their quarterback Tyrod Taylor?  All Taylor did was go 7-6 as a starter, throw for over 3,000 yards, 20 touchdowns to 6 interceptions.  He beat out E.J. Manual for the starting spot and has outplayed his current value, yet the Bills are in no hurry to extend him.

Rumors have been flying that the Bills are in fact in the market to draft a quarterback.  They have already met with Dak Prescott and Cardale Jones.  Why?  What sense does that make when you have a dual threat quarterback in house?  I could see drafting a long-term project as a backup or even signing a free agent, but to be openly in the market pursuing a quarterback is a slap in Taylor’s face.

Taylor is being a professional about it stating on Syracuse.com that he is here to better himself and do what he needs to do to lead the Bills to the Super Bowl.  I really respect this young man and I don’t understand why the Bills don’t.

Since Jim Kelly in 1996, the Bills have had 11 different quarterbacks.  Players like Doug Flutie, Rob Johnson, Todd Collins, Alex Van Pelt and most recently Trent Edwards and Ryan Fitzpatrick.  All Taylor did in 2015 was have the Bills offense outside the top 10 in yards and points per game.  The Bills were 12th in points and 13th in total yards which is the highest rankings since the team was led by Drew Bledsoe back in 2002 where the Bills were ranked 11th in both categories.

The Bills are currently in a 16 year playoff drought and Taylor is the only quarterback that can lead them to the postseason now.  Why start over with a rookie?  The Bills offense have the pieces in place.  Sammy Watkins at wide receiver, a lethal running back duo of Karlos Williams and LeSean McCoy.  Why mess up that chemistry by going in a different direction?

Buffalo, pay this man the money he deserves!

If Brock Osweiler can get a huge contract from Houston, Taylor should get something of similar value.  Don’t extend Taylor this season and the Bills run the risk of losing him to free agency.  There will be a number of teams vying for his services and the Bills playoff drought will continue.
