Robert Griffin III makes one of his first stops of his offseason campaign. NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported that Griffin visited the New York Jets on Friday, according to a source close to the situation.
The Jets hosted the four-year quarterback as a possible ‘Plan B’ because they still do not have Ryan Fitzpatrick signed to a new contract.
RGIII is visiting the Jets, source said (as @AdamSchefter reported). Would likely be (they hope) behind Ryan Fitzpatrick

The offseason quarterback saga continues as numerous NFL teams continue to search for their next signal caller, including the Jets. Gang Green and team general manager Mike Maccagnan are in a standoff with contract talks with Fitzpatrick because they the sides are so far off financially. It has been reported that the Jets have offered their quarterback backup money.
Griffin could likely, if all works out, be Fitzpatrick’s backup. New York has also been reported to be in contact with Colin Kaepernick of the San Francisco 49ers about a possible trade.

Griffin’s four-year rollercoaster run with the Washington Redskins has come to an end after a release earlier this week. He did not play a single snap last year in Washington after losing the starting job to Kirk Cousins. Griffin has gone from 2012 Rookie of the Year to being benched.
The Jets could be hoping to revitalize Griffin’s career under the wings of offensive guru Chan Gailey, in hopes of turning the quarterback into a stable player.
In Griffin’s first three seasons on the gridiron, he totaled 8,097 yards through the air with 40 touchdowns and 23 interceptions. The dual-threat signal caller also recorded 1,480 rushing yards and eight scores.
